Our history
Simpsonville Christian Church has been a cornerstone of our community since 1839. Started in 1839 at the intersection of Todd’s Point Road and Antioch and was the Antioch Church of Christ. As the congregation grew the members decided to move to Simpsonville, in 1870 they met in the Masonic Hall in Simpsonville.
In 1875 the congregation decided that it was strong enough to erect a building and support a Pastor. In 1875 ground was broken and the new building was built in 1876. The name was changed to Simpsonville Christian Church, (Disciples of Christ). Today the church still operates at 7002 Shelbyville Road and serves our community and continues our commitment to sharing God’s love.
